The David Leech Elementary School
encompasses Grades K through Six and has an enrollment of 400 students. Educational
programs are designed to assist students archieve their maximum potential. After-School
Tutoring, Summer Reading and Mathematics, Title 1 Supplemental Assistance programs,
Challenge Classes, the Instructional Support process, and Special Education programs
are provided to ensure all children receive the assistance needed to achieve academic
Junior Area Jr.Sr. High School
consists of Grades7 through 12 and has an estimated
enrollment of 470 students. The Jr. High School makes up Grades 7 and 8 while the High School
comprises Grades 9 through 12.
The Jr. High School curriculum is designed to meet the needs of students in all major subject areas.
Each student is given the opportunity to succeed to the maximum of his / her capability. High achieving
students have the opportunity to accelerate in mathematics by taking pre-algebra in grade 7 and beginning
a foreign language program in grade 8. All students take classes designed to enhance their computer skills
which include keyboarding, computer programming and Internet / Microsoft Word. Their educational experience
is enriched through participation in Art, Music, Family and Consumer Sciences, Industrial Arts and Physical
Students in grades 9 through 12 have the opportunity to enhance their education by taking courses in Science,
Mathematics, English, and Social Studies. We also offer honors classes such as Advanced Art, AutoCAD, Child
Care, and Computer Technology designed to supplement the students’ course of study. Students may also elect
to pursue a technical education by attending Lenape Area Vocational-Technical School during their 11 th and 12
th grade years.
